Like a gun shop open 24/7. You know, just in case. Or the two different large-scale gun expos I passed (one in CA, one in Colorado, on the way to WY). Or the number of violent (gun-related) incidences that were covered on TV during my short stay there (ack, how do you continue to your cereal and watch that stuff? I'd sort of lost practice).

Blue Highways is a revelation. You can get lost in its pages. It is a bracing alternative memoir to the franchising of the nation.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03437876558716264896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285944574753141681.post-59712351676730122462010-03-07T04:45:25.465+01:002010-03-07T04:45:25.465+01:00How strange it must feel to be back in the US. I'll have to see if my library has a copy.Rosehttp://thelaughingmonkey.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285944574753141681.post-50383204310961670302010-03-06T09:19:52.651+01:002010-03-06T09:19:52.651+01:00Hi WC,

Really, it's surprising more people don't live there, given the fact that many other states are snow-bound for half the year--and this one has no income tax (corporate or personal) and no sales tax on food...But when the wind picks up, it's COLD.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03437876558716264896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2285944574753141681.post-21809491297570746722010-03-05T07:08:37.135+01:002010-03-05T07:08:37.135+01:00I've always had a soft spot for Wyoming.
